Vasco Vilaça was born in 1999 in Amadora, Portugal. He lives in Sweden since 2013 where he trains and studies. He has proven to be an athlete with an enormous potential. He achieved excellent results in the junior category: he won the Quarteira Triathlon European Cup in 2016; he was European Junior Champion and Vice World Champion of the same category in 2017. When he moved to the elite category, he has shown also good results: he was 4th place in the 2019 World Championship Final in under-23. Last season, in 2020, he was silver medallist in Triathlon World Cup in Karlovy Vary that took place in September and was World Vice-Champion in Hamburg, the only race of the season from the World Triathlon Series.
